How to get the drivers license

Basic information

First option: You don’t have a drivers license (from abroad) yet

First you regitster at the driving school and at the road traffic office (Straßenverkehrsamt of your hometown). There you hand in the application the you get from us and you have to add the first aid certificate, an eyetest and a picture.

Theory classes: The amount of lessons you need to participate in depends on wheter you have anouther license and which category you make. When you register for cat. B (car) and you have no other license it will be 14 lessons, 90 minutes each. We highly recommend you start learning while going to theory classes, because as soos as your documts have been passed on to the TÜV, we will make an appointment with you fort he theory exam. This exam can be taken in English or any other language available. The TÜV offers 12 different languages. So just ask us.

When you start the practical part, you start with the simulator. This is included in the learning material set that you recieve from us. The simulator prepares you perfectly fort he practical classes. Nobody stressing you, nobody beeping the horn at you, no need to be afraid of causing an accident. You will learn all the basics neccessary for your driving classes.

Then you start driving with a teacher. We are a multicultural team, so you we speak Italian, Spanish, Romanian, Polish, Turkish and of course English.

The amount of lessons you will need cannot be predicted. You will start with the basic trainig, then Sonderfahrten (5 x Überland, 4 x Autobahn, 3 x Nachtfahrten) and finally the preparation for the exam. During the classes you will also learn the few German words you will need in the exam like „rechts abbiegen“ or „bitte dort einparken“.

Second option: You already have a valid drivers license from abroad

You also have to translate your drivers license, which can be done by official translaters or for example the ADAC.

Theory classes: You don't have to attend theory classes, but you are welcome to do so. Just let us know. We highly recommend you start learning while early enough, because as soos as your documts have been passed on to the TÜV, we will make an appointment with you fort he theory exam. This exam can be taken in English or any other language available. The TÜV offers 12 different languages. So just ask us.
